Otuaro Graces Oporoza Festival, Celebrates Ijaw Culture as Gen. Elaye Dollar Slaboh Commends Visit.

The hardworking and performance-driven Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), High Chief (Dr.) Dennis Brutu Otuaro, on January 2, 2026, graced the colourful annual celebration of Oporoza Community, the traditional headquarters of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State.
The appearance of High Chief Otuaro at the culturally significant event brought honour and national attention to the celebration, as he joined the Ijaw people in showcasing their rich heritage, customs, and ancestral traditions. His presence clearly demonstrated his strong connection to grassroots communities and his commitment to peace, unity, and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
Dressed in traditional Ijaw regalia, the Presidential Amnesty Programme Administrator immersed himself in the cultural display, celebrating the flexibility, resilience, and pride of the Ijaw people. Community leaders and attendees described his participation as a powerful symbol of inclusive leadership and respect for indigenous institutions.
The visit once again affirmed Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro as a core believer in customs and traditions, a leader who understands that true development is rooted in cultural identity, unity, and peaceful coexistence.
Although not physically present at the event, General Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh, National Chairman of the Third Phase Presidential Amnesty Programme, commended High Chief Otuaro for honouring the Oporoza annual celebration, describing the visit as timely and impactful. He noted that such engagements strengthen trust, foster unity, and deepen collaboration between leadership and host communities across the Niger Delta.
The 2026 Oporoza annual celebration featured vibrant cultural dances, traditional music, royal processions, and communal interactions that highlighted the enduring heritage of the Ijaw nation.
Residents of Gbaramatu Kingdom expressed appreciation for the visit, stating that the presence of the PAP Administrator at the festival has further strengthened confidence in the leadership of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and its commitment to peace and development in the Niger Delta.
