Source: Eyewitness Report via @Emmanuel Unongo.A major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping has been recorded in Benue State as three suspected Fulani kidnappers were apprehended at Ihotu Motor Park, located within the state, following an incredible twist of fate involving one of their former victims.
According to eyewitness reports, the suspects had arrived at Ihotu Park with the intention of boarding a vehicle bound for Makurdi.
Unbeknownst to them, one of the passengers present at the park was a young woman they had kidnapped in a previous operation and released only after a ransom had been paid by her family.
Shockingly, the suspects were still in possession of a bag they had stolen from the victim during her ordeal. Upon sighting the bag and recognizing their faces, the courageous young woman immediately raised an alarm. She quickly held on to one of the suspects inside the vehicle.
The remaining two attempted to flee the scene but were apprehended by a swift crowd response.Upon arrest, a Ghana-Must-Go bag carried by the suspects was searched and found to contain ₦11 million in cash. Eyewitnesses confirmed that the money was counted openly right outside the park’s police outpost.Tension escalated quickly as an angry mob began to form, demanding jungle justice.
However, the Ihotu Park Manager, sensing the danger of mob violence, made an emergency call to military personnel. Soldiers and officers from the Nigeria Police arrived in time and successfully rescued the suspects from the irate crowd.
The brave young woman accompanied the police to the station. In an unexpected development, another woman showed up at the station and identified the suspects as the gang that had previously kidnapped her as well.In response to the developing situation, the Governor of Benue State personally reached out to the State Commissioner of Police, expressing his interest in the case.
The suspects have since been moved to Makurdi, with the key witness following the security team for further investigation and formal charges. This shocking but encouraging development has sparked widespread reactions on social media and in the Benue community as calls intensify for tougher action against kidnapping and banditry across Nigeria.🔗
