Igbogene/Opolo, Bayelsa State – June 22, 2025 | FrontNaija News
In a moving act of generosity and compassion, the National Chairman of the Third Phase Presidential Amnesty Programme, General Elaye Dollar Slaboh, today led his team on a heartfelt outreach to Daisy Orphanage Homes in Igbogene and Opolo in Bayelsa State.
The visit, carried out through his humanitarian platform, the Touch Light Foundation, brought renewed joy, comfort, and encouragement to vulnerable children in need of care and emotional support.
The day’s event was filled with warmth and genuine human connection. The moment the children caught sight of General Slaboh and his team, they ran forward with laughter and excitement, their faces lit up with the kind of joy that can only be sparked by feeling seen, valued, and loved.
The visit featured the distribution of food items, clothing, hygiene products, and other forms of direct support, as part of the foundation’s mission to uplift the less privileged in society. But more than material support, it was the personal engagement, heartfelt conversations, and fatherly presence of General Slaboh that left the deepest impact.
Reflecting on the source of his passion for humanitarian work, General Slaboh shared a deeply personal story:> “When I look at these children, I remember our own childhood. Some of us were not raised by our parents alone. There were kind-hearted individuals who stepped in and stood by our families.
Their love helped shape who we are today. That’s where I draw my inspiration from — the selfless hands that helped us when we had little.”He went on to speak about the need for shared humanity and collective care:
You don’t need to be rich or famous to care for others. True joy comes from seeing others smile because of something you did. That is the kind of legacy that truly matters — the kind that lifts others up.”The management and staff of Daisy Orphanage Homes expressed profound appreciation, describing the visit as a moment of light and healing for the children and caregivers alike.
This is more than a donation,” said the matron at the Opolo facility. “This is a reminder that these children matter. That someone cares. That they are not alone.
The Touch Light Foundation, founded and driven by General Slaboh’s vision of service and humanity, has been a steady source of hope for the underprivileged offering direct support, emotional connection, and dignity to those often overlooked by society.
Before departing, General Slaboh called on all members of society to play their part in shaping a better world for children:> “We must invest not just in buildings or programs, but in people. Especially in children. When we uplift them, we uplift the future of our communities.
The smiles, laughter, and heartfelt prayers of the children were a testament to the power of love in action — and to a leader who chooses to serve not with power, but with purpose.
