The Anambra State Government has dismissed eight operatives of the Agunechemba Security Outfit following their brutal assault and public stripping of a female corps member, Miss Jennifer Elobor.

The announcement was made on Wednesday at the agency’s headquarters in Awka by the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi.

Emeakayi explained that the Soludo-led administration moved swiftly after receiving multiple reports of the incident, describing it as an act of gross misconduct and abuse of authority that will not be tolerated under the present government.

According to him, the eight operatives have not only been dismissed from service but will also be handed over to the police for prosecution to ensure justice for the victim.

He stressed that the Anambra State Government remains committed to the safety and dignity of its citizens and would not hesitate to take disciplinary measures against any individual or group found abusing their positions of trust.

The disturbing incident has sparked outrage across social media and within the community, with many Nigerians calling for justice and condemning the inhumane treatment of the corps member who was said to have been humiliated in public view.

This action by the state government is seen as a strong message to other security outfits and operatives within the state to operate within the law and respect the fundamental rights of citizens.
