The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Chief Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, earlier today paid a strategic courtesy visit to Hon. (Engr.) Satomi Ahmed, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence, and President of the Network of African Parliamentarians for Defence and Security Committees.
Reacting to the development, General Elaye Dollar Slaboh, National Chairman of the Third Phase Presidential Amnesty Programme, applauded Dr. Otuaro for what he described as “purpose-driven leadership and genuine commitment to securing the future of the Niger Delta.” According to Slaboh, “This kind of high-level engagement is exactly what the region needs — dialogue, partnership, and results. Dr. Otuaro is leading by example.”
The high-powered meeting focused on building strategic synergy between the PAP and the House Committee, particularly in enhancing national and human security in the Niger Delta. Discussions also centered on strengthening peace-building frameworks and advancing inclusive development through collaboration with key federal institutions.
Dr. Otuaro emphasized the need for coordinated efforts between the legislature and executive agencies to address challenges affecting communities in the region. He reiterated his commitment to a collaborative approach in implementing sustainable solutions that will promote peace, growth, and reintegration.
On his part, Hon. Satomi Ahmed praised Dr. Otuaro’s leadership style and expressed the Committee’s readiness to support the Amnesty Programme’s mission, assuring that the legislature will play its part in fostering national security and inclusive progress.
This visit forms part of a wider effort by the PAP leadership to deepen institutional relationships and reposition the programme as a key driver of development and stability in the Niger Delta.
