Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has revealed that his administration is engaged in ongoing negotiations aimed at addressing the lingering insecurity crisis in Katsina State.

Radda, while speaking on Monday, September 8, 2025, explained that the dialogue involves key stakeholders, including community leaders, security agencies, and representatives of affected villages. He noted that the state government is adopting a multi-dimensional approach that combines security operations with peace talks in order to restore calm in troubled areas.

The governor stressed that while military actions are still on the table, dialogue remains crucial to achieving a long-term solution. He further assured residents that the state government is committed to protecting lives, rebuilding affected communities, and ensuring farmers can safely return to their farmlands.

Katsina, one of the states most affected by banditry in the North-West, has witnessed repeated attacks, kidnappings, and killings in recent years, leaving many displaced. Governor Radda expressed optimism that the ongoing negotiation would yield positive results if all parties demonstrate sincerity and commitment.
