ABUJA — In a major anti-corruption breakthrough, the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately publish the names of all individuals indicted in the alleged N6 trillion misappropriation uncovered in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) forensic audit.

Justice Gladys Olotu delivered the landmark judgment in response to a Freedom of Information (FOI) suit filed by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), ruling that the government has a legal duty to disclose the full forensic audit report and reveal everyone implicated.

The court held that the NDDC audit is a public document, and withholding its details violates both the FOI Act and constitutional obligations on transparency.

According to the ruling, the Tinubu-led Federal Government must:

Release the full NDDC forensic audit report

Publish names of all persons indicted in the N6 trillion mismanagement

Disclose details of funds reportedly diverted, misused, or unaccounted for

SERAP welcomed the judgment, stating that revealing the identities of those responsible for the massive financial scandal is critical to ending entrenched corruption in the Niger Delta and ensuring accountability.

The ruling has sparked widespread reactions nationwide, with many Nigerians calling for swift government compliance and immediate prosecution of those implicated. The Federal Government is yet to issue an official response.
