In a significant move aimed at strengthening peace and stability in the Niger Delta, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, earlier today received the Chairman of the House Committee on Peace Building and Social Cohesion, Hon. Prince Sadiq Abbas Tafida, in his office in Abuja.
Hon. Tafida, who represents the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency of Taraba State in the House of Representatives of Nigeria, paid the visit as a courtesy call to the Amnesty Programme Administrator. Both leaders held a frank and productive discussion focused on strengthening peacebuilding efforts, promoting social cohesion, and sustaining stability in the Niger Delta region.
Reacting to the development, the National Chairman of the Third Phase Presidential Amnesty Programme, Gen. Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh, commended Dr. Otuaro for his continued commitment and leadership in advancing peace and development across the Niger Delta.
General Slaboh also applauded Hon. Tafida for the timely visit, noting that such engagements are critical in reinforcing collaboration with key stakeholders working to sustain peace and progress in the region.
He emphasized that strategic partnerships and open dialogue remain essential to consolidating the gains of the Amnesty Programme and ensuring lasting peace in the Niger Delta.
