We, the genuine leaders and stakeholders of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to the current leadership of the Programme under the capable direction of Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro. The Programme has taken a commendable turn for the better under his guidance, and we are grateful for the renewed hope and vision now driving its operations.
We pray for continued wisdom and strength for Dr. Otuaro and his team as they navigate the responsibilities of this sensitive and impactful assignment. Despite attempts by envious and malicious individuals to cast aspersions and spread falsehoods, we urge the leadership to remain focused on delivering meaningful results.
Under Dr. Otuaro’s watch, the Amnesty Programme has witnessed a new era of transparency and accountability. Funds and resources meant for beneficiaries are being channeled appropriately, and the days of mismanagement are fast becoming a thing of the past. This upright approach has restored the confidence of many Niger Deltans in the Programme and reassured us that the goals of rehabilitation, empowerment, and reintegration will truly be realized.
In addition, the PAP is now on a path of visible and impactful achievements. Many long-overdue benefits are finally reaching beneficiaries, and numerous empowerment programs are being revived and expanded. Vocational training, academic scholarships, and enterprise support initiatives are becoming more accessible—bringing hope to our youths and driving real development in the region. We are confident that under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership, more PAP beneficiaries will graduate with professional certifications, degrees, and even PhDs.
We also extend our gratitude to the people of the Niger Delta for their steadfast support of Dr. Otuaro. Under his leadership, the region is witnessing increased opportunities for growth and development. Skilled men and women are emerging, and the foundation for sustainable peace and progress is being laid through education, training, and empowerment.
We are encouraged to see that many who were once misled by blackmailers and purveyors of falsehood have come to recognise the sincerity and effectiveness of Dr. Otuaro’s leadership. As it is said, “Among the twelve, there was a Judas.” In every journey, there may be dissent, but we call on those who continue to peddle lies and discord to cease their actions immediately. If not, they should be prepared to face the legal consequences of their misconduct.
Peace in the Niger Delta is non-negotiable. We will not tolerate any individual or group that seeks to disrupt the progress and peace we are collectively building. Those being sponsored to destabilise the Programme are warned to desist immediately. We will take all necessary actions—within the bounds of the law—to preserve the peace and integrity of the PAP.
We are aware that one cyberbully has already been apprehended. Let this serve as a warning to others: do not make yourself an example. The era of unchecked defamation and sabotage is over. Let it be known that we will not fold our arms while a few misguided elements attempt to derail the Programme that is transforming lives and stabilising the region. We stand united in support of Dr. Otuaro and reaffirm our commitment to defending the peace, purpose, and progress of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
