We, the genuine leaders and stakeholders of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), hereby debunk the protest staged in Abuja by individuals falsely claiming to be ex-agitators. These persons are not part of the 30,000 original beneficiaries captured in the official Amnesty Programme data and do not belong to Phase 1, Phase 2, or Phase 3. We urge the public to disregard their baseless claims against the PAP Administrator, Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro.
The so-called leader of the protest, Comrade Lion Ogorry, is an impersonator. He does not belong to any recognized phase or camp of the Amnesty Programme. Lion Ogorry is being used by enemies of progress in the Niger Delta—people who are threatened by the reforms and accountability brought by Dr. Otuaro’s leadership. We call on the public and relevant authorities to take note of this deception and expose the sponsors behind this act.
Since taking office, Dr. Dennis Otuaro has brought integrity, transparency, and purpose back to the Amnesty Programme. He is working strictly with the original data of 30,000 ex-agitators, eliminating fraudulent actors and ending illegitimate claims. His leadership is widely supported and celebrated by all genuine beneficiaries across the three phases, and we commend him for his dedication to restoring the true vision of the programme.
We, the authentic stakeholders of PAP, use this medium to urge the Amnesty Office and the general public to completely ignore the Abuja protesters. Their claims are false, and their motives are politically driven. The progress being made under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership is clear to all, and we stand firmly with him as he continues to lead the programme in the right direction.
Lastly, we are sending a clear warning to Lion Ogorry and his sponsors — you are nothing but envious individuals, blackmailers, bad eggs in the Niger Delta, and complete impostors. If you dare repeat this nonsense again, we the genuine leaders and stakeholders will confront you directly, and you will be forced to show which phase you belong to and present your full identity. If you fail to do so, we will hand you over to the appropriate authorities.Let it be known – ignorance is not an excuse.
