The controversy rocking the academic credentials of Nigeria’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, took a dramatic twist on Monday.
The minister’s media aide, Robert Ngwu, alleged that the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, is the brain behind what he described as a well-coordinated smear campaign aimed at tarnishing his principal’s image.
According to Ngwu, the attacks on Nnaji’s qualifications are not organic but a calculated political move, allegedly sponsored by Governor Mbah to weaken the minister’s credibility and standing both at home and in Abuja.
However, in a swift and sharp rebuttal, Governor Mbah denied any involvement in the saga. He challenged the minister to face his own battles, declaring:
👉🏽 “Carry your cross.”
This back-and-forth has further heightened tensions in Enugu political circles, leaving Nigerians asking the big question: Is this about truth, politics, or power play?
