Okaka, Yenagoa – In a heartfelt tribute to the enduring legacy of the late Elder Fredrick Agama, a groundbreaking ceremony was held to mark the commencement of construction for the Fredrick Agama Christian Academy (FACA). The event took place in Okaka community, along Market Road in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The initiative seeks to immortalize the values, dedication, and Christian service that Elder Agama exemplified during his lifetime—particularly through his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Christ Church in both Port Harcourt and Yenagoa. His contributions to the church community, which spanned decades, left an indelible mark on generations of worshippers and church leadership alike.
Representing the Agama family at the groundbreaking was Chief Lambert Sunday Ototo, Chairman of the Bayelsa State Local Government Service Commission. In his remarks, Chief Ototo commended the vision behind the establishment of the academy and expressed the Agama family’s deep gratitude to the church, the community, and all stakeholders for the honour bestowed upon their late patriarch.
He described the Frederick Agama Christian Academy as not merely a memorial but a living continuation of Elder Agama’s legacy of faith, education, and community service. “This institution will stand as a lighthouse of Christian values and academic excellence,” Chief Ototo stated. “It is a legacy that will shape lives for generations to come.”
The event drew attendance from church leaders, community elders, family members, and well-wishers from across Bayelsa and Rivers states. With prayers, hymns, and words of inspiration, the ceremony marked a significant milestone in the effort to build an institution dedicated to raising morally upright and intellectually sound future leaders.
When completed, the Fredrick Agama Christian Academy is expected to provide quality, Christ-centered education—rooted in moral discipline and spiritual growth.
