Tension is brewing across Nigeria as the Nigeria Police Force reportedly gears up to crush a planned nationwide protest led by human rights activist Omoyele Sowore in collaboration with retired police officers demanding justice over poor welfare, unpaid pensions, and years of abandonment.
According to Sahara Reporters, a leaked police directive has instructed commands nationwide to deploy anti-riot units and intelligence officers to thwart the protest, which is gaining momentum among disenfranchised ex-officers and activists.
The retired personnel say they have been pushed to the wall by years of neglect, while Sowore, known for his fearless activism, has vowed that nothing will stop the protest.> “They served this country with their lives — now they’re being dumped like trash. We will take to the streets.
