Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has dropped a bombshell allegation against former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, claiming he used public funds to construct a lavish hotel in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
According to Sowore, the hotel is so extravagant that “if sold, the proceeds could be enough to renovate all the dilapidated schools in Kano State.”
The fiery activist made this claim while speaking against the widespread mismanagement of public funds by Nigerian politicians, stressing that such actions are a gross betrayal of the trust of the people.
“This is the height of injustice. While the masses suffer poor education and infrastructure, a few individuals build empires for themselves with stolen public wealth,” Sowore lamented.
As of the time of filing this report, Ganduje or any official linked to the hotel project is yet to respond to the allegations.
This revelation has stirred fresh debates about transparency, accountability, and the deepening rot in Nigeria’s political system.
