Panic has gripped Tor-Donga, a community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, following a deadly attack by suspected gunmen in the early hours of Friday.
According to eyewitness accounts, the attackers—heavily armed and riding motorcycles—stormed the area, shooting indiscriminately and causing widespread fear and confusion. The terrifying assault forced hundreds of residents to flee their homes in search of safety.
Several people were reportedly injured, and many others are still missing as families were separated in the chaos.
> “People were running in all directions. We abandoned our homes and properties; everyone just wanted to stay alive,” one survivor told Opera News.
As of the time of filing this report, the full extent of casualties remains unclear. Security agencies are yet to make an official statement, while the affected community is calling for urgent government intervention.
