The attention of the National Chairman of the Third Phase of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), General Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh, and his national leadership, has been drawn to a recent misleading and malicious publication by SaharaReporters.
In the said report, SaharaReporters accused the Administrator of the PAP, Chief (Dr.) Dennis Brutu Otuaro (PhD), of misappropriation of ₦48.7 billion and other unfounded financial irregularities.
We wish to categorically state that this so-called “investigation” is nothing but a hatchet job designed to malign the reputation of a man who has brought uncommon transparency, accountability, and renewed hope to the Amnesty Programme and the Niger Delta region at large.
Since assumption of office, Dr. Otuaro has demonstrated an unshakable commitment to the mandate of the PAP – to consolidate peace in the Niger Delta, empower ex-agitators, and drive sustainable development.
His leadership style has been anchored on openness, due process, and genuine stakeholder engagement. It is therefore laughable that SaharaReporters, without credible evidence, would attempt to tarnish the image of a man who has proven to be the most transparent Administrator the PAP has ever produced.
The figures being bandied about by SaharaReporters are not only misleading but mischievously presented to create the impression of fraud where none exists.
Government expenditure, especially at the scale of the PAP, follows laid-down processes involving multiple layers of approval, auditing, and oversight.
The allegations of “unaudited withdrawals” and “unsupported tuition payments” are clear fabrications, intended to deceive the public and distract from the giant strides already recorded under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership.
A Warning to SaharaReporters
We strongly caution SaharaReporters and their sponsors to desist from this campaign of calumny against Dr. Otuaro.
General Slaboh and his leadership team have made it clear:
If SaharaReporters truly has evidence, let them make it public. Otherwise, they must be ready to face the full weight of the law for deliberately misleading the public and attempting to destabilize the Niger Delta through falsehood.”
The Amnesty Programme is too critical to the peace and stability of the Niger Delta to be dragged into needless political mudslinging. Mischief makers must understand that their attempt to discredit the current PAP administration will fail, because facts will always speak louder than falsehood.
General Slaboh’s Declaration of Support
The National Chairman of the PAP Third Phase, General Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh, reaffirmed the loyalty of his national leadership team to Dr. Otuaro’s administration.
According to him:
We will not sit back and allow falsehood to be used as a weapon against a man who has brought fresh life and credibility to the Amnesty Programme. Dr. Dennis Otuaro is not only a leader of integrity but also a bridge-builder whose focus is on peace, empowerment, and the future of the Niger Delta. We stand firmly with him, and no amount of blackmail or propaganda will derail the progress currently being achieved under his leadership.”
General Slaboh further urged all beneficiaries and stakeholders to ignore the baseless propaganda and continue to support the visionary leadership currently piloting the affairs of the PAP.
