The Bayelsa State Sports Complex in Yenagoa came alive with excitement and celebration as the National Chairman of the Third Phase Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Gen. Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh, led his national leadership team to officially welcome His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The landmark political gathering attracted top political figures, ex-agitator leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders from across the Niger Delta region, marking a major realignment in Bayelsa’s political direction under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his address, Gen. Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh reaffirmed the Third Phase’s unwavering commitment to the vision of peace, empowerment, and inclusion championed by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), and strongly supported by the Administrator of the Federal Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro.
He commended Dr. Otuaro for his visionary leadership and his role in repositioning the Amnesty Programme as a sustainable tool for peacebuilding, reintegration, and development across the Niger Delta.
Speaking further, General Vicas Ebiama, the National Spokesman of the Third Phase Amnesty Programme, described Governor Douye Diri’s defection to the APC as “a bold and strategic move that aligns Bayelsa with national progress and unity under the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
He applauded both Dr. Dennis Otuaro and Gen. Elaye Dollar Slaboh for their joint efforts in promoting peace, inclusivity, and effective leadership among ex-agitators nationwide.
Adding his voice, General Last Drop, one of the most respected leaders of the Third Phase, reaffirmed their total commitment to the Door-to-Door Campaign Initiative, a grassroots mobilization project inspired by Tompolo.
According to him, the campaign represents a strong symbol of grassroots democracy, ensuring that the Renewed Hope vision reaches every community in the Niger Delta.
The event drew massive attendance from Third Phase members, ex-agitators, youth leaders, and political supporters who declared their loyalty to the APC and their belief in President Tinubu’s leadership.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and unity as the participants expressed optimism about the future of Bayelsa under the APC and the continued support of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
