TINUBU DECLARES FUBARA APC LEADER IN RIVERS, WARNS AGAINST IMPEACHMENT PLOTS.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reportedly affirmed Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the political leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, sending a strong signal amid the state’s lingering political tension.
This revelation was made by the President’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, during a televised interview. According to Bwala, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has no legal or political basis to claim leadership of the APC in Rivers State, stressing that Wike is not a registered member of the ruling party.
Bwala further stated that President Tinubu has already adequately compensated Wike by appointing him as the FCT Minister, a position he described as one of the most strategic roles in the Tinubu administration.
🚨 APC Issues Strong Warning Over Impeachment Threats
Addressing the alleged impeachment moves against Governor Fubara, Bwala issued a stern warning, noting that the APC will strongly resist any plot aimed at frustrating or obstructing the governor from performing his constitutional duties.
He emphasized that the presidency would not tolerate actions capable of undermining democratic governance or destabilizing Rivers State, adding that Governor Fubara enjoys the full backing of President Tinubu to govern without intimidation.
🔍 Political Implications
This development is seen as a major boost for Governor Fubara and a decisive statement from the presidency amid the ongoing power struggle in Rivers politics. Analysts believe Tinubu’s stance could reshape political alignments in the state ahead of future elections.
