In 2008, I stood before Nigeria and warned:
“Without Amnesty, the Niger Delta will burn.”
That warning birthed the Presidential Amnesty Programme in 2009, which saved Nigeria’s fragile oil economy from collapse, gave militants a chance to lay down arms, and restored peace to the Niger Delta.
I was not speaking as a gunman. I was speaking as a man of conscience—one who understood that a nation cannot grow on blood, tears, and endless crisis. My words came from love for Nigeria, and history vindicated me.
Tinubu Once Walked the Path of Peace
Mr President @ official ABAT, you know this story well. Long before you became President, you walked with me on that fragile bridge of peace. You reached the militants through my hand of trust. You saw how close Nigeria was to collapse, and together, we gave peace a chance.
But today, under your watch, Rivers State is bleeding.
Instead of upholding the people’s mandate, you are imposing an illegal administrator on Rivers people.
This is not democracy. It is dictatorship dressed in fine clothes.
Nigeria’s Shame: Guns Speak Louder Than Peace
I am not a gun carrier. I chose peace over violence. Yet, in today’s Nigeria, it seems only the sound of guns can move leaders. That is a shame. That is inhuman.
When leaders turn deaf ears to voices of peace, they invite chaos.
When leaders mock the constitution, they destroy the very foundation of the country they swore to protect.
And when leaders sacrifice democracy for selfish interests, history does not forgive.
A Direct Warning to the President
Mr President, this is a moment of truth. History will not forgive you if you ignore peace. Your children and generations to come will be ashamed to answer your name if you allow Rivers State—and Nigeria at large—to drown in avoidable crisis.
This is not about politics. It is about justice. It is about the right of the people to govern themselves, free from manipulation and imposition.
My Demands Are Clear:
1) Respect the Constitution – Nigeria is not a kingdom; it is a democracy.
2) Stop killing Nigerians with hardship & corruption – every day, citizens are crushed by hunger, insecurity, and bad governance.
3) Return Rivers State to the people – let the people’s will, not political greed, determine their future.
I have a face.
I have a name.
Onengiya Erekosima Dennis.
Do not say nobody warned you.
