In a bold step toward strengthening the educational foundation of ex-agitators under the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), the proactive Administrator, Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, today hosted the Vice-Chancellor of Western Delta University, Oghara, Prof. Augustine Ikelegbe, at his Abuja office.
The high-level meeting focused on deepening the existing partnership between the PAP and the university, ensuring that beneficiaries continue to access world-class education and skill-based opportunities tailored for sustainable reintegration.
Sources at the meeting said Dr. Otuaro and Prof. Ikelegbe held a “frank and strategic discussion” on expanding academic programmes, improving monitoring systems, and enhancing the overall welfare of Amnesty students in tertiary institutions.
Reacting to the development, the National Chairman of the Third Phase Presidential Amnesty Programme, General Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh, praised Dr. Otuaro’s unwavering commitment to education, describing him as “a visionary leader driving real transformation across the Niger Delta.”
He noted that the Otuaro-led PAP has rekindled confidence among beneficiaries and stakeholders, setting a new pace in human capacity development and peace consolidation in the region.
