The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), under the dynamic and visionary leadership of its Administrator, Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, has deployed another batch of foreign post-graduate scholarship beneficiaries to reputable universities in the United Kingdom, further strengthening the programme’s commitment to human capital development in the Niger Delta.
As part of preparations for their academic journey, the Office of the Presidential Amnesty Programme organised a comprehensive pre-departure orientation programme for the scholars at its headquarters in Abuja.
The orientation was designed to equip beneficiaries with essential information on academic expectations, cultural adaptation, and conduct abroad. In addition, the scholars were presented with laptops to enhance their studies and research activities while overseas.
Commending this milestone, General Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh, National Chairman of the Third Phase Presidential Amnesty Programme, praised Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro and his management team for sustaining the programme’s strong focus on education and capacity building. He described the deployment of another set of scholars to the UK as a remarkable academic stride that will positively impact the beneficiaries and the Niger Delta region at large.
According to Gen. Slaboh, the consistent investment in education through foreign postgraduate scholarships reflects the Administrator’s unwavering commitment to empowering youths with globally competitive skills, knowledge, and exposure.
The Presidential Amnesty Programme continues to play a strategic role in promoting peace, development, and sustainable livelihoods by prioritising education as a tool for long-term regional transformation.
