In a fresh political jab, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has lashed out at his long-time political rival and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, for referring to his wife as an “industrialist.
Wike, while addressing a gathering in Abuja, couldn’t hide his sarcasm and disbelief over Amaechi’s description of his spouse.
With his characteristic bluntness, the former Rivers State Governor questioned the basis of such a title, asking pointedly:> “Which industry? Is it pure water? Or groundnut oil? Let him mention one factory she owns.
The FCT Minister went on to accuse Amaechi of misleading the public by branding his wife with a title he believes is undeserved.> “They come out and throw around titles to sound important. If you say your wife is an industrialist, Nigerians deserve to know what she produces and where. We are not fools,” Wike said.
This remark is the latest in a long-standing war of words between the two Rivers-born politicians, whose rivalry has defined Rivers State politics for over a decade.
