The National Chairman of the Third Phase Presidential Amnesty Programme, General Elaye ThankGod Dollar Slaboh, alongside members of his national leadership team, has commended Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its outstanding achievements in safeguarding critical oil infrastructure and combating crude oil theft across the Niger Delta.

Since August 2022, Tantita has recorded remarkable successes in restoring security, boosting oil production, and stabilizing the nation’s economy through its strategic pipeline surveillance operations.
Major Security & Anti-Oil Theft Achievements (August 2022 – November 2024)
79% Reduction in Crude Oil Theft
Crude oil losses dropped drastically from 36.69 million barrels in 2022 to 7.68 million barrels in 2023, according to reports from the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.
This historic reduction has saved Nigeria billions of dollars in lost revenue.
Significant Increase in Oil Production
Nigeria’s crude oil production rebounded from a low of 800,000–1.1 million barrels per day before 2022 to about 1.5–1.8 million barrels per day, with some peaks nearing 2 million barrels daily.

This recovery has helped the country meet and sometimes exceed quotas set by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, strengthening economic stability.
Massive Crackdown on Illegal Oil Activities
Through its surveillance systems and field operations, Tantita uncovered and stopped 3,963 illegal activities, including:
702 illegal pipeline connection points
971 active crude oil theft cases
1,784 illegal refinery sites, leading to the destruction of 3,063 illegal refining facilities
204 aversion and deterrent operations
Seizure of Illegal Oil Theft Assets
Security operations also led to the confiscation of numerous assets used in illegal refining and crude oil smuggling, including:

8 vessels (including 3 tugboats and 6 barges)
1,743 wooden boats
117 vehicles (including 52 tanker trucks)
47 fibre/speed boats
7 tricycles and motorcycles
Several other equipment used in illicit oil operations.

Vanguard Crude Oil Infrastructure Security Award – 2023 and 2024 (two consecutive years) for outstanding protection of oil facilities and contribution to increased production.

Commendation at the United Nations SDG Action Awards in Rome, Italy (2025) for combating oil theft, creating jobs, reducing youth restiveness, and promoting peace and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
